W.L. "Johnny" Epton's Obituary
W.L. “Johnny” Epton passed away on March 5, 2010.
He was born June 5, 1927 in Nashville, Arkansas to the late J. Cecil and Alty Humphrey Epton. The beloved husband of Aurora Cox Epton, he is survived by three sons: Michael (Sally), Terrence (Sandra) and Scott Epton; his sister, Vivian Libby of New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Eric and Abigail Epton; five step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. He is the brother-in-law of Pat Cox and Doris Cox Simon and was preceded in death by his brother, Chares Epton.
A resident of Big Branch for over 30 years, Johnny was a member of the Big Branch Civic Club. He worked for American Standard for nearly 40 years and belonged to the Local #220 International Potters and Allied Workers Union. Wounded during WW II, he served his country as a Merchant Marine and held a membership in the Seafarers’ International Union.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial mass at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin at 9:30 AM.
