Sending our prayers and heartfelt sympathies to all of Veronica's family and loved ones. As I reflect on the privileged opportunities we had to be in her company it is with great respect and admiration. From being in her History Class at Andrew Jackson High School, I can attest to her incredible commitment to her students and creativity in making learning fun, while instilling an attitude of responsibility to be the best we could under her tutelage. As a young adult, it was a joy to share with Veronica, now as parents, while watching Ashlie, Alicia and Cheryl grow together at St. Louise. After Katrina, as our paths crossed again, now attending Church of the King, we observed compelling compassion and love from Veronica, a mother who put her Christian faith in action on her daughter's behalf. Never before had I witnessed such perseverance and sacrifice, as in those days, with her encouraging all she came in contact with to pray for her daughter's healing, one she lived to see for herself. What a life of testimony and inspiration, even through her own illness. May knowing Veronica has touched many lives in such a special way give you all peace.
