Vera Galloway Roy's Obituary
Vera Galloway Roy passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012. She was born in Isabel, LA on July 19, 1924 to the late James A. and Valeria King Galloway. She lived her adult life in New Orleans and in Isabel. Working for over 20 years in the business office at Hotel Dieu Hospital, she returned to Isabel every week. Her passions were tending her garden and cooking. She was generous with the fruits of her labors, sharing what she grew, preparing meals and visiting with the sick and those she loved.
The beloved wife of the late Abbey J. Roy, she is survived by two daughters, Ann Roy Stoltz and Denise Roy Meriwether and her husband Donald. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Cavell Galloway. She is also survived by and had great affection for her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin Saturday at 10:00 AM.
Interment at the Isabel Cemetery will immediately follow services.
