Vera Falout Cefalu's Obituary
Vera Falgout Cefalu age 91, of Covington passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, July 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 23, 1930 in Hahnville, Louisiana to Leston and Desiree Falgout.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years Roy Andrew Cefalu, her children David Cefalu (Sheryl), Angela Bradshaw (late Tom Bradshaw), Lauren Cefalu Castanedo (David), and Gina Cefalu Dimak (Sean, Sr.), her grandchildren, Dylan Callaghan (Alicia), Ben Bradshaw, Sean Dimak, Jr. (Alex), Nicky Castanedo, Alexis Dimak Palmisano (Tony), Betsy Bradshaw, Carly Cefalu, Chris Castanedo, and Angelina Dimak, her great-grandchildren Roman Palmisano and Blake Dimak, as well as baby Callaghan due in November and baby Palmisano due in December. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Vera is preceded in death by her parents Leston and Desiree Falgout and her 7 siblings who she loved dearly.
A native of Hahnville, a lifelong resident of Metairie and then Covington,Vera was exceptional in every way. She loved her life and lived it to the fullest. She was a loving wife, mom, sister, and friend, was kind, selfless, caring, and most of all loved Jesus. Her love was infectious to all. She was a member to St. Anslem Catholic Church in Madisonville and an avid Saints and LSU fan. Her true passion was spending time with her family and friends, and watching football and baseball games. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
We wish to thank Kim Hollander and Jaye Lynn Troxler for the beautiful care they provided for our mother. We are forever grateful for your love and compassion you both so gracefully shared with her and our family. We would also like to thank Lakeside Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Anslem Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary, Madisonville, Louisiana 70447 on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
