Veachel C. "Tuck" Tucker Sr.'s Obituary
Veachel C “Tuck” Tucker Sr passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023 at the age of 86. Veachel was born in Oklahoma City, OK on January 22, 1937.
Tuck is survived by his wife Carol Tucker, sons Veachel Jr (Barbara) and Michael (Leslie), daughter-in-law Teri, Sisters-in-law Patsy Taylor (Albert) and Cathy Wiles (William), Grandchildren Veachel Tucker III (Taylor), Christine Tucker Bartlett (Josh), Steven Tucker, Jonathan Tucker (Heather), Matthew Tucker (Abbie), Rebecca Tucker, Amanda Tucker, Taylor Tucker Welty (Chris), Ryan Tucker, Kellie Tucker. Great grandchildren Brandon Tucker, Harlow Tucker, Briggs Tucker, Halen Tucker, Charlie Bartlett, Lillian Tucker, Bradley Bartlett, Brooks Tucker, Charlotte Welty, and Jovi Tucker along with numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Tuck was preceded in death by his father, Carl York Tucker, mother Fanny Holley Tucker, son David Tucker, and 11 older brothers and sisters.
A native of Oklahoma and proud resident of south Louisiana for over 65 years, Tuck graduated from Central High School, in Oklahoma City, OK. After high school he enlisted in the US Air Force and served 4 years. Upon discharge, Tuck began his professional career as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA. From there, Tuck went on to own and operate several successful businesses in the automotive service industry. After selling the businesses, Tuck finished his business career with the US Postal Service. He was a long time member of the Franklinton Golf Club and of the Knights of Columbus.
Tuck was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time outdoors playing golf and pitching horseshoes. He was an accomplished horseshoe pitcher collecting several state tournament titles over his 20+ year active tournament career. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. Tuck was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
The Tucker family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by Forest Manor Skilled Nursing in Covington and the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Reserve, LA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 11345 St John Church Rd, Folsom, LA 70437 on Thursday, March 23, 2023 with visitation beginning at 9:00 am until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
