I knew Valerie briefly while she was a resident at St. Anthony's Gardens. She joined our book club and was a delightful contributor to our discussions. After I read her obituary in the Times Picayune, I realized that Valerie had a very interesting and full life. So happy she shared it with us - may she be enjoying her new life - and books still on her list!

I am a current member of Daughters of the British Empire in Louisiana. I knew Valerie for very many years. We often had lunch together when we both worked in the CBD. She was always very interesting and had so much knowledge of travel. We would talk of our upbringing in the UK and share many laughs. When she had been living in Covington for a short time - I visited and recall a problem with a small snake in the swimming pool.
Lots of dog barking going on.
Valerie always had a kind word and viewed the positive. I know she will be missed by many DBE members and I send sincere condolences to her entire family.
