Toxey Gerald "Jerry" Collins' Obituary
Toxey Gerald “Jerry” Collins passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the age of 86 in Covington, Louisiana. He was born in Columbia, Mississippi on October 16, 1936.
Jerry was a native of Summerall, Mississippi and a resident of Pass Christian, Mississippi. He attended Louisiana State University where he was a member of the rifle team and ROTC. After earning a bachelor’s degree in 1958 he began a successful career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a business owner and real estate developer. After moving to Pass Christian, he continued his career by building and operating Stor-By-U and Stor-By-U2, storage facilities in Biloxi, Mississippi.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha Moseley Collins; step-daughter, Marie O’Rourke, her husband Justin; step-grandchildren, Emma Wynne, Marguerite Wynne, Ralph Wynne and Estelle O’Rourke; brother, William Todd Collins, his wife Rita Ferell Collins; nephew, William Todd Collins, Jr., his wife April; niece, Renee Collins Furnas, her husband Robert; great-nephews, Grant Furnas and William Todd Collins and great-niece, Ashton Victoria Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Toxey Hall Collins and Mildred Lott Collins.
Private Funeral Services and interment were held at St. Joseph Abbey in Covington, Louisiana.
