Thomas Oscar Knight's Obituary
Thomas Oscar Knight, a retired Aerospace Engineer, died at his home in Covington, LA on Tuesday July 31, 2007.
He was 89 years of age, and had lived in Covington since 1964. He was born in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone. He served in the Army of the United States during World War II as a laboratory officer in the Medical Administration Corps in Australia, Manila and Tokyo, and retired as a Major in the Reserves. He was an executive with Chrysler Corporation for two missile programs in Detroit and the Saturn Space Program in New Orleans. He worked in support of NASA on the Shuttle Program with the Defense Contract Administration at the Michoud Plant from 1976 to 1983.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Irene Driscoll Knight.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia K. Donlon and her husband Edward of Metairie, LA and Susan K. Carter and her husband Jim of Covington, LA; three sons, William Knight and his wife Margaret of Atlanta, Georgia, Bob Knight and his wife Choloe of Covington, LA and Bruce Knight of Washington, DC. He is also survived by five wonderful grandchildren, Ryan Knight of Oakland, California, Adam Knight of Atlanta, Georgia, Tom Carter of Covington, and Eliece and Carter Knight of Covington, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation on Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time.
Interment will follow services in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
