Thomas Joseph Conklin's Obituary
Thomas Joseph Conklin, 60, of Mandeville, LA, departed this world on May 26, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Julie Clement Conklin; children, Chloe Conklin, Clayton Conklin, William Conklin, and Harrison Conklin; grandson, Connor Ellison; sister, Ann Hoff; and father, Dr. William Conklin.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Conklin; and his beloved dog, Duke.
Tom was born in St. Louis, MO on April 6, 1964. He grew up in Alton, IL and Bogalusa, LA and later resided in New Orleans, LA and Mandeville, LA. He graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in Art focusing on photography and printing, which was one of his passions throughout his life. His real pursuit in life was becoming a proud Brewmaster, brewing and judging at the Great American Beer Festival.
In 1995, he met the love of his life, Julie Clement at The Red Barn Pub in Mandeville. The spark between them was undeniable. They married on April 3, 1999 and had two beautiful sons, William and Harrison.
Tom’s greatest joy in life was spending every Sunday afternoon cooking family dinners at his home and relaxing in the backyard. He was a talented, self-taught chef, who enjoyed cooking for his loved ones. Some of his favorite hobbies were biking with Chloe, canoeing with Clayton, playing chess with William, and throwing axes with Harrison.
He will be remembered for his charismatic charm and the ability to never be a stranger to anyone.
He will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Party at Chloe’s home on June 9th at 3pm.
