Teree Blair Lartigue's Obituary
Teree Blair Lartigue, age 73, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Born on August 1, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Teree was a career LPN, notably a hospice nurse at the time of her passing. In addition to caring for her patients, Teree believed even the smallest beings on Earth belong and have a home, and her caring heart and passion for wildlife rehabilitation and education led her to co-found Silent Voices Wildlife Rehabilitation, a non-profit organization. Teree didn’t hesitate to voice her mind and could be gruff, but those who knew her well also knew her kindness, generosity, and wit, the fun-loving person who enjoyed traveling, estate sales, and, most especially, spoiling those she loved. She was well loved in return by a large circle of friends and family members.
She is survived by her siblings, Sandra Sessum Walker (Ronnie); Pepper Sessum Caruso; Mary Margaret Mintz (Steve); Guy “Buddy” Lartigue III, (Lois); Leslie Mentel; numerous beloved nephews and nieces; extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Gwendolyn Osburg Lartigue and Guy David Lartigue Jr.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ms. Lartigue may be made to Silent Voices Wildlife Rehabilitation, 508 JR Lane, Kentwood, LA 70444, 504-717-9767; https://silentvoicesrehab.org/.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
