Sylvia Houlemard Baham's Obituary
Sylvia Houlemard Baham passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 surrounded by family at her home in Madisonville, LA. She was born on May 7, 1938 in New Orleans, LA to the late Harold A. Houlemard, Sr. and Mae Staes Houlemard.
Sylvia was the beloved wife of the late Rodney Baham, Jr. for 53 years. She was the loving mother of Alonzo Baham, Sr. (Kathy), Angela Baham, Karen Domingue (Michael), Kevin Baham (Karen), Alisa Faciane (Merrill), Carl Baham (Desiree), Jon Baham (Jo), and Joey Baham (Karen). Sylvia was proud of her 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Harold Houlemard, Jr., Noel Travers, Irene Houlemard, the late Joyce Nicholas, and Jeannette West.
She was a native of New Orleans where she attended Xavier Preparatory School before being whisked away to Madisonville by her loving husband Rodney. She loved nurturing her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed being with family and especially enjoyed her biweekly get togethers with her sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447 on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until Mass time.
