Sybil Elizabeth Watson Thames' Obituary
Sybil Elizabeth Watson Thames passed away on November 10, 2006 in Mandeville, LA.
She was born October 21, 1920 in Dry Prong, LA and was a resident of New Orleans for over 40 years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved teaching children’s Sunday school classes.
She moved to Mandeville in 1995. Mrs. Thames was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Marvin E. Thames; mother of Dr. Marvin E. Thames, Jr. (Mary Lynne), Charles W. Thames (Laura) and Philip D. Thames. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Liev T. McReynolds (Jason), Jennifer, Vaughn, Stephanie, Elisabeth and Warren Thames. She is the great-grandmother of Tychicus McReynolds.
Preceding her in death was Lorraine W. Maxey, her only sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 for a time of visitation on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 2 to 4:00 PM.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Dry Prong City Cemetery.
