Sybil Fowler Barton's Obituary
Sybil Fowler Barton, 88, died at home on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Born in Oak Grove, LA, on August 31, 1924 to Willie Schrock Fowler and Norman O. Fowler. While growing up, Sybil lived in Oak Grove, LA; Smackover, AR; El Dorado, AR; Greggton, TX and Shreveport LA, where she graduated from Byrd High School and attended Centenary College – including summer school and night school while working for Arkansas Fuel. Sybil worked in the oil exploration Industry for 17 years and founded the Shreveport Chapter of The Desk and Derrick Club. Sybil is survived by three daughters, Deborah Ellen Barton McConnell, Cheryl Ann Barton Olinde, Bonnie Gale Barton Beattie and their respective families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Al Hinton Barton and grandson, Lt. Joseph James McConnell. If so desired a memorial donation may be made to:
