Suzette Guidroz Bourg's Obituary
Suzette Guidroz Bourg passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. She was born in New Orleans, LA on October 16, 1946.
She is survived by her loving husband, Avis Bourg, Jr.; her children, Amanda Wildey (Brad) and Avis Bourg III (Tiffany); her grandchildren, William Bradley Jr., A.J. Bourg, Lacie Bourg, Lucas Bourg, Avery Bourg and Marley Wildey. She is also survived by her siblings, Paulette Ganucheau and Edwin Guidroz, Jr. (Judy).
She was preceded in death by her parents Mabel Hudson Guidroz and Edwin Guidroz, Sr.
Suzette lived as a loving and thoughtful mother, daughter, wife and grandmother as well as a compassionate friend. Suzette never met a stranger. A native of New Orleans and graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School, Suzette married, and the family moved to Folsom in the late 70’s to enjoy their affinity for horses and country living. Suzette’s love for sports included playing softball, attending her children’s and grandchildren(s) sporting events as well as cheering-on the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. Her true passion as an avid sportswoman undeniably revolved around horses. This passion spanned over several decades from competing in the arena as a young woman in multiple riding events onto following in her father’s footsteps as an owner, breeder and trainer of many successful thoroughbred racehorses alongside her husband.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery III.
