Susan "Sue" Dericks' Obituary
Susan “Sue” Dericks, at the age of 63, entered eternal rest peacefully on Sunday morning, December 24, 2023, at her family home. She was born in Framingham, Massachusetts on August 11, 1960, to Trubee Racioppi and Margaret Morrish Racioppi.
She is survived by her husband John Dericks of 40 years, her adoring sons Robbie and Tommy Dericks and her loving daughter-in-law Vanessa. Sue was the proud and loving grandmother of Olivia Grace Dericks. She will be dearly missed by her mom, dad and brother Gib Racioppi and his family, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends, whom she dearly loved.
A native of Wayne NJ, and proud resident of Mandeville for over 27 years, Sue graduated from Wayne Hills High School, in Wayne NJ. Sue was a softball player, nick name “Chope”, a downhill skier, and second chair flute in the band.
After high school she attended Springfield College in Massachusetts where she earned her bachelor’s degree. Sue began her professional career with Sears and Robuck, with a life dream to work in Sears Tower, Chicago Ill. She made that dream come true with her hard work and became the National Training Manager and, after 9 years at Head Quarters, Sue took a position with Sears in Louisiana, and became the store manager of the Slidell Sears store.
After 20 years with Sears, Sue began her next career as an outstanding Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams. She was successful and well respected throughout the North Shore area and loved working with home buyers and sellers. Sue continued her passion of teaching and worked to train fellow realtors, in business and ethics. She was also on the board of realtors and her homeowners association.
Sue was unique in many ways and loved for her quick wit and generosity. She was strong-willed and a force to be reckoned with when standing up for her convictions. She was talented, intelligent and had a determination that allowed her to accomplish whatever she set her mind to achieve. When Sue loved she loved with her whole being.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors boating and sightseeing. She loved her dogs, throwing big parties, live music and of course, Karaoke.
Sue was one of a kind, irreplaceable, well respected and left an amazing impression on those who came to know her. She will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her and will remain in the memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
