Susan D. Carter's Obituary
Susan Dawn Carter, 50, passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2007.
Memorial service: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Visitation: 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Memorials: In Susan's memory, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Box 78960 Phoenix, Ariz. 85062-8960.
Susan was born Sept. 30, 1956. She graduated from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, La., in 1974. She attended Louisiana State University and was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Susan worked as a database maintenance team leader at Harris Methodist Health Plan/THR before her diagnosis. She loved to travel and loved her Weimaraner, Madison. She loved her children and was very proud of their accomplishments.
Susan fought a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) for nearly eight years and was a strong supporter of finding a cure. She was an inspiration to everyone, including her caregivers. The family would like to express thanks to Journey Hospice of St. Tammany.
Survivors: Husband, Charles Carter; mother, Penne Cason; father, George Bales; daughters, Lindsey Ware Piattoly and Melissa Ware Richardson; and son, Christopher Ware.
