Stock William Sacco's Obituary
Stock William Sacco, named after his maternal great-grandfather, Mr. George William Stock, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at his home in Covington, LA. He was born on April 30, 1966 in New Orleans, LA to the late Peter J. Sacco, Jr. and Karen Fitzpatrick Sacco.
Stock was the loving brother of Mark K. Sacco (Ann) and Scherrer S. Stevenson (Brian). He was the uncle and Godfather of Sophia Sacco. Stock loved being with family, enjoying family dinners, and holidays with relatives and friends.
Stock graduated from Grace King High School and attended The University of New Orleans. He was employed in the finance industry for over 25 years.
Stock found enjoyment in books, movies, music, and theatre. He had a passion and love of sports, especially baseball. He was an umpire for youth baseball, umpiring games at the Coquille Sports Complex in Covington and Pine Street Park in Madisonville where he made many a friend on and off the field.
While he enjoyed sports, he was an expert pool player having been to Las Vegas several times to shoot in professional tournaments. Stock was a master of pool and won several individual and team tournaments locally and in Mississippi.
Stock was a friend to all who knew him, usually greeting someone with a smile or a joke. He was quick to listen and always available to anyone who needed him. Stock will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at his interment at Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, LA on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the Sacco family is encouraging donations be made to the Fr. Harry Thompson Center in Downtown New Orleans. Donations may be mailed to The Harry Thompson Foundation, 130 Baronne Street, New Orleans, LA.
