Stirling Lawrence “Snookie” Smith on Tuesday, December 12, 2006.
Father of four sons, Stirling Wayne Smith, Sr., Michael Glennon Smith, Wallace Lawrence Smith, and Richard Gordon Smith; three daughters, Joan Ann Smith Taylor, Barbara Sue Smith Smith and Cheryl Margaret Smith Sharp. Grandfather of 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Anderson and Beverly Williams.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Eunice Erwin Smith; his mother, Anita DeLeBretonne Smith; his father, George G. Smith; a grandson, Stirling Wayne Smith, Jr., and three brothers, Erwin J. Smith, Elmo Smith, and Neville Smith.
Age 89 years. A native of Mandeville he had been a resident of Covington for the past 50 years. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II and a active member of Fitzgerald United Methodist Church.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 12:00 Noon from the Chapel of E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc., 2260 W.21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Friday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.
Interment will follow in Garden of the Pines Mausoleum.
