Steven Fierst's Obituary
Steven Kaufman Fierst passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his parents Ira Olbum and Dorothy Kaufman Olbum Fierst.
Mr. Fierst grew up in Atlanta, GA. After spending some time in Pennsylvania and Virginia, he settled in the New Orleans area where he lived since the late 1960's. He was CEO of a successful commercial real estate development company, from a young age until retirement. As a child prodigy, he was a classically trained musician, and wrote lyrics and music to well over 100 songs during his singing career in the 1960's. Mr. Fierst was an avid opera enthusiast and long time supporter of local opera, ballet and the arts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 6-8 pm at 525 Boston Street in downtown Covington. City Church will host this event in the Vineyard Church location. Please park and enter in rear of building.
Donations in memory of Mr. Fierst may be made to The St. Tammany Humane Society.
