To the family of Stanley Pausina.
I know this is very untimely but I just came across his obituary. My name is Mike Mouton and I currently live in Denver but am originally from Vinton, La. Stanley and I were inducted in to the Army in January 1962 and went through basic training at Ft. Chaffee Arkansas together. After basic we went in separate directions but when we were discharged we met again in New Orleans and renewed acquaintances. (A few beers at Ye Olde College Inn as I recall.) I lived in Lake Charles at the time and on a visit to New Orleans a few years later I took my new wife to Zibliches for a great meal and visit with Stanley. Unfortunately we didn't reconnect again and I'm sorry for that. I remember Stanley as a a good man and am amazed how we bonded in only 8 weeks of being together during our basic training. I'm sorry for your loss and know he will be missed.

Dear Pausina family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Mr. Stan and Mrs Virginia were dear friends of my family. Mr. Stan was a huge positive influence for both my brother, Bert, and myself. Our relationship started as his laborers on the building next to Zummo's on Metairie road that he and my dad owned. I can still hear his voice, "hey boys, stop falling asleep and get painting" as we were sitting on the scaffolding in the heat of mid July 1993. One of the reasons why Bert went into architecture is because of that summer and your dad.. I on the other hand went the opposite way in finance. I loved his entrepreneur spirit and he always had a deal. Mr. Stan also procured our first cars and we were constantly calling him when things went wrong. He was always willing to help even if it was our fault. He was a genuine, fun loving, jack of all trades, matter of fact personality and he will be missed. He was a good man. I pray for peace for you all and I truly wish I was able to give my respects today in person.

Vanka, Gina, Michael, Charlie and the entire Paulsina family, my heart aches with yours. Stanley was one of my first bosses as a young man and my all time favorite. He helped me buy my first car thru his dealership friends. As a young teenager I went a few times to the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo on the oyster boat with my Dad, Dundo Zvonko, Nicola and Stanley and I'm sure I was always underfoot and I asked way too many stupid questions but Stanley always treated me wonderfully. If I ever had a question or needed any kind of advice he was always there for me and I had all the respect in the world for him and his opinions.
It is so Stanley that he took his last breath on the same day as Virginia took hers years ago. Our last conversation was about him buying a big boat and traveling around the country by water...sail away my friend
