Staff Sgt. Brian Carl Taylor's Obituary
Staff Sergeant Brian C. Taylor passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the National Institute of Health in Bethseda, MD, after a long battle with Non Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Beloved son of Leland L. Taylor, Sr. and the late Josephine Vaccaro Taylor; loving brother to Leland L. Taylor, Jr. (former wife, Hope), Judy T. Morse (husband, Todd), Joseph T. Taylor (wife, Patricia) and Robert C. Taylor (wife, Melanie); and uncle to Katie Taylor, Jude Taylor, Buddy Popp, Brittney Pounds, Brittany Taylor, Tess Morse, Blake Morse, Gabrielle Taylor and Hannah Taylor.
Age 45 years, he was a native and former resident of Independence, LA.; and a current resident of Petersburg, VA. Brian entered the United States Army in October 1995 as a Private First Class and currently held the rank of Staff Sergeant and was currently stationed at Fort Lee, VA. During his military service, he had three tours of duty overseas which included, Korea, Germany and Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Among other awards, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Brian loved most being a Soldier in the US Army. He also greatly enjoyed metal fabrication, weight lifting, exercising and was well known as an excellent cook of Cajun cuisine. When not in uniform, Brian was most likely seen wearing jeans, a cowboy hat and boots.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a wake at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
There will be Eulogy at 7:30 PM.
Staff Sergeant Taylor will be buried at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
