Sidney Cartwright Cox's Obituary
Sidney Cartwright Cox, a native and life long resident of Covington, LA died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at his family home, Silver Dew, at the age of 49.
He was a graduate of St. Paul’s School in Covington, the LSU School of Business and the LSU Law School. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He practiced law in his hometown and was president of the Covington Bar Assn. from 1986-1987. Sid devoted the last years of his life caring for his elderly mother.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Cox and his niece, Laura McCulloch Treppendahl. He is survived by his mother, Melva Cartwright Cox, a brother, Robert E. Cox, Hurricane, UT, his sister and brother-in-law, Coco and David Treppendahl of St. Francisville, their three children, Katherine, Rob and Sophie Treppendahl, and Scout, his faithful canine companion.
Sid was deeply loved by those who knew him. He will be remembered for his sacrificial and generous heart, his loyalty to his friends, his depth of soul, and his ability to light up a room with his smile.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at St. Paul's School in Covington. Friends may gather beginning at 9:30 AM for a time of visitation. Following the services, friends are welcome to join the family at Ristorante Del Porto for food and further fellowship.
