Shirley Jenkins Williams' Obituary
Shirley Jenkins Williams, lifelong St. Tammany Parish native and resident of Waldheim, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the age of 82. She was born on January 13, 1939 to Nick Jenkins and Elulia Sharp. The beloved wife of 53 years to the late Charles Frederick Williams, she was the sister of Mattie Wray, Earline Osborne, Mary Little, Judy Lewis, Sybil Revere, the late J.D Jenkins, the late Mike Jenkins, the late Agnes Smith, the late Louise Sharp and the late Yvonne Boyd. She is survived by her children: Bruce R. Williams (Brenda), Brenda W. Finnegan (Chuck), Nathalie W. Henderson, Charles R. Williams, and Patricia W. Schoen (Michael), eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters - Yvonne Boyd, Louise Sharp, Agnes Smith, two brothers – J.D. and Mike Jenkins, daughter-in-law Marlene Williams, son-in-law John Henderson and granddaughter Candice Schoen. She was a retired rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service where she worked for over 15 years. She was also a devout Christian and dedicated member of Waldheim United Methodist Church for over 60 years and a member of the order of the Covington Order of the Eastern Star. Her sweet smile and gentle soul will be missed by all who knew.
With COVID-19, restrictions social distancing and face mask are required to attend services.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow immediately at the Waldheim Cemetery 77067 Hwy 21 Waldheim, LA. A visitation will be held on Sunday March 14, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA.
