While many people knew The Honorable Shirley Jourdan Gottschalk Watkins through her public service, I remember her for a personal kindness she extended to me more than three decades ago. It was an act that reflected the character, compassion, and humanity she carried into her interactions with others. I have never forgotten it. Her memory will always be associated with gratitude in my heart.
