I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Shirley was always such a sweet person. I really enjoyed waiting on all of you at the Courthouse Cafe a few years back. I know she is in heaven watching her family and smiling as always. God Bless and keep each and everyone of your family.
To the Cole family,
I am heartbroken at your loss. I knew Shirley as a Mom and she was one of the best. The last time I saw her she gave up one of her free nights at the casino hotel for me, my husband Ian and Becky. Oh, did I mention she had so many free nights she'd never be able to use them all?
I always loved it when she came to Boston to visit Becky and when I came to Mandeville to visit. She was always giving, loving and happy to see you.
Of course my favorite "Shirley" story was when she lost her fingernail in her hair. Didn't really seem to bother her - she'd find it eventually!
She was a wonderful lady and will be missed so much by so many. Her journey may be over but her light will shine always in our hearts.

Becky, Susan, Ernie and Ernest, please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. As you know "Miss Shirley" got me through my senior year of high school as a boarder at St. Paul's. What a deal: folded laundry and Sunday dinner with macaroni and cheese every weekend! She will be dearly missed not only by your family but by everyone whose life she has touched.

It is always painful to have a death in our Emergency Department and the loss of Mrs. Cole was no less painful because of her fight with cancer. I did want to let you know that my daughter, Sarah, was given a brown scapular before her First Communion by the Carmelite Nuns (just last week). When I told these beautiful ladies my vocation, they gave me a few extra blessed scapulars to take with me... Mrs. Cole was given one at the hour of her death and a prayer was said for her that she be entrusted to the angels of heaven and our Mother, Mary. I hope that your fond memories will soon overcome your grief, especially knowing that she is in Good Hands.
