Shelly Dodson Jones' Obituary
Shelly Dodson Jones passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025. She was born in New Orleans, LA on February 10, 1954.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Chrissy Jones Pritchard (Kelly); her grandchildren, Hadley M. Pritchard and Huck O. Pritchard. She is also survived by her siblings, D. Christine Dodson, Robert O. Dodson ( the late, Becky) and Albert R. Dodson; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alberta Christine Fayard Dodson and Robert Maitland Dodson; and brother, Keith David Dodson.
Shelly graduated from Mississippi State University with a BA in Education and taught elementary school for 34 years with the ST. Tammany Parish School System of which 27 of those years were at Madisonville Elementary. She loved camping and travelling. She was a devoted and caring “Kitty Nana” to her grandchildren, who loved her dearly.
Shelly was a loving, gentle and caring mother, grandmother and sister.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her .
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
