Selletta Diane Donahue's Obituary
Selletta Diane Donahue passed away on February 18th, 2026 in Phoenix, AZ. She was born on August 2nd, 1954 in Columbia, South Carolina.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Donahue; her children, Jessica Jimmerson (Luke Jimmerson), Greg Donahue (Jessica Donahue), and Bailey Nash (Zane Nash); and her grandchildren, Molly Jimmerson, Piper Jimmerson, Cora Jimmerson, Clay Jimmerson, Connor Donahue, Caroline Donahue and Lehman Nash. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Shows Roussel and Renee Mulkey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Shows and Natilia Burns Shows; and sister, Carla Buchholz.
There are three things that Diane loved most in life: flowers, music, and children. Wherever she lived, from Louisiana to the Midwest to tropical Florida to the Midsouth to the Phoenix desert, Diane always had something green in the ground producing flowers. Diane loved to sing. She served the church faithfully as part of the choir and as a cantor for many years. Hearing the name of one of her seven grandchildren immediately lit up her eyes and brightened her day anytime she was down. She was a steady participant in the lives of her children and grandchildren and left an indelible mark on everyone who called her Mom or Meem. She was sent to us to produce beauty in this life and was wildly successful in that vocation.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In recent years, it has become customary to request donations in lieu of flowers. However, we feel strongly that Diane would want any and all flowers at her service — she loved their beauty and the joy they bring.
To honor her heart for animals and her love of uplifting music, the family will be making donations to programs that support animal welfare and positive, life-giving music.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, LA 70448 on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:30 PM with visitation at church on Saturday beginning at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in Mandeville Cemetery.
