Sandria "Sandy" Lee McLemore's Obituary
Sandria “Sandy” Lee McLemore, at the age of 73, entered Eternal Rest on March 20, 2026. She was born on October 10, 1953 in Oak Hill, Ohio and had been a resident of Louisiana since 1959. After living in New Orleans, Kenner and Slidell, she settled in Ponchatoula, Tangipahoa Parish.
She is survived by her sister Martha McLemore of Hanover, PA, her sister Ina McLemore of Birmingham, AL, and her brother John McLemore of Canyon Lake, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she cherished, as she had no children of her own. Her 38 years of marriage to Thomas J. Letellier ended in divorce in 2008, but she remained close friends with him and his current wife Chris, who were a major part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marion Lee McLemore and Evelyn Q. Honeycutt McLemore Mafia, her brother Thomas “Mac” L. McLemore of Kiln, MS, and her brother Donald E. McLemore of Beatty OR.
She was a very talented and artistic individual. She earned a degree in Cosmetology in her early years and went on to receive her teaching license in that field. She gave free haircuts and styling to family members. She wrote poetry, created many beautiful paintings, pottery and other art forms. She was an accomplished seamstress and furniture upholsterer and designed numerous one-of-a-kind pieces. She was known for her attention to details.
As a woman of faith, she attended the Church of God in Covington, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and performing occasional solos.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at the Holiday Inn, 45 Louis Prima Drive, Covington, LA 70433, on Sunday May 17, 2026 between 11:00 a.m. (service) through 3:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
