Salvadore J. Goldate's Obituary
Salvadore J. Goldate passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2007. He was born in Madisonville, LA to the late Salvadore J. and Henrietta Koepp Goldate and has been a resident of Kenner for the past 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marion Simonds Goldate; loving daughter Janet G. Gomila; two grandchildren: John T. Gomila, III, Lisa G. Gray and four great-grandchildren: Cierra and Tony Gray, Molly and Samantha Gomila. He was preceded in death by one brother, Earl B. Goldate and four sisters: Doris Alexander, Cleo Cooper, Myra Perrea and Ethelyn Frere. Mr. Goldate was an Army Veteran of WW II and was proud to have been a Foreman for Higgins, Inc. for 14 years. He also worked for a number of other Shipyards as a ship fitter before his retirement. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate the Funeral Mass on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 12:00 Noon from St. Anselm Catholic Church, 307 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447. Visiting hours will begin Monday at the Church at 10:00 AM. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington, LA in charge of arrangements. Interment will follow Mass at Theo Dendinger Cemetery in Madisonville. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
