Salvador Anthony Cangiamilla Jr.'s Obituary
Salvador Anthony Cangiamilla Jr., at the age of 82, entered eternal rest peacefully on Saturday morning, December 24, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 4, 1940, to Salvador Anthony Cangiamilla Sr. and Agnes Prejean Cangiamilla.
He is survived by his loving wife Catherine Moss Cangiamilla of 60 wonderful years, his adoring children Salvador Cangiamilla III (Dodie), Keith Cangiamilla, and Donna Cangiamilla. He was the proud grandfather of Keith, Jr. Olivia, Krysten, Salvador IV, Kayla, Katie, and Bryce, and great grandfather of Laken, Bryleigh, Ryver, Ackal, Fowler and Kai. He was the caring sibling of (JoAnn Cangiamilla Govier and the late Vincent Cangiamilla and). He will also be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Salvador was preceded in death by his parents Salvador and Agnes Cangiamilla, and his brother Vincent Cangiamilla.
A native of New Orleans, and proud resident of St Bernard Parish for 42 years and now Madisonville for over 16 years. Salvador graduated from Holy Cross High School, in 1958, where he ran track and was in the glee club. He was also a part of The Holy Cross Tiger Athletic Club. After high school, he began his professional career as an auto mechanic. He would eventually work for Sears Roebuck for 39 years. He was successful and well respected as an outstanding mechanic. He retired in 1999 and became a professional Boo-Boo to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devoted and active member at Our lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in St. Bernard and St. Anselm Catholic Church after moving to Madisonville.
Salvador was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time watching sports and camping. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. Salvador was unique and irreplaceable. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
The Cangiamilla family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by the care givers and staff of St. Tammany Hospital, Northshore Extended Care Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, St. Tammany Home Health, and St. Tammany Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary Street, Madisonville, Louisiana 70447 on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
