Bobby & I met Sally & Walt about 12 years ago, while camping in Florida at the Corps of Engineers campgrounds. They both became our friends, but Sally became very special to me. I live in Tennessee and she lived in Louisiana, 10 hours apart. We stayed in touch all year by telephone, talking once or twice a week. During the summer months, we would talk every day while we were booking our campsites for the winter. Bobby & Walt talk more often than that. Sally & Walt made many friends among our camping "group". During this past week that we were in Folsom, and at the memorial service, I met some of her family, her school friends, her college friends, and some boating friends. Talking to them made me wish I had met her many years ago. The photo tribute, on this site, shows Sally from a young woman through her 47 years with Walt. I wish I had one more day --- one more conversation --- one more camping outing --- and many more years to be friends with Sally. God bless this lovely woman. I love you Sally.

We were blessed meeting Sally & Walt while camping in south Florida more then 10 years ago. To say that Sally enriched our lives is very understated. She fought a tough battle for many years with bravery, dignity and cheerful determination. Few but those close to her would have realized that her life was anything but normal. Lynda and I celebrate all the good times we shared on the road, in their home and at our home for the Winter holidays. We grieve with Walt that we will share them no more. Tina and I shared many wonderful times with Sally and Walt since moving next door to them several years ago. One of our fondest memories is having dinners with them, especially when Sally and Walt would serve liver. Now it takes a really good cook to make liver taste good, but they were very good cooks and the liver always tasted great.
Sally had a very great sense of humor and an honesty that could always be counted on.

Beautiful and loving memories remain of my sweet grandma Sally. My heart is hurting for my grandpa and loving husband to Sally for 47 years. We shall never forget all of the good times we have shared with her. My wish is that we cherish the time we are given with our loved ones and don't let time pass by without letting them know you love them. Will miss your voice saying to me - " Well hi Mandy . How are the kids?".
