Ruth H. Wetzlich's Obituary
Ruth Wetzlich was born June 10, 1924, in Dresden, Germany, two hours after her identical twin, Maria, and passed away on June 23, 2015 in Covington, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reginald Wetzlich and Hedwig Noack Wetzlich, and her sister, Maria Wetzlich James.
Ruthchen, along with her sister and parents, survived World War II. Ruthchen came to the USA 50 years ago to live with Maria and her family in Wasilla, AK. Upon Maria’s death, she relocated to Mandeville, LA to live with Sissy, Mark, Joshua, and Timothy becoming a much loved member of the family. Throughout her life, she attacked each trial and tribulation she faced with dauntless courage and optimism. Ruthchen saw every challenge and struggle as an opportunity to grow and adapt.
Ruthchen’s ashes will be scattered in Wassila, AK, near her sister in a family ceremony and celebration of her life. She will be greatly missed.
