I always enjoyed being with Aunt Ruth. When I was a little girl I would go with her and my mother (Madeline) to Aunt Kitty's apartment to clean it and then we would go by the old seed and feed store "Tobias and Gas". Aunt Ruth would buy a few seeds to plant. She was so full of wisdom;I just loved talking to her especially about the times when she and my mother were little girls! I love you, Aunt Ruth.
I have wonderful memories of Aunt Ruth. Oh it was such a treat to get to drive up to Abita Springs and visit her. The town seemed so quiet and peaceful, what I think Mayberry would have been like, and her home was a place where you felt completely at ease. We all would gather around her and listen with such intrigue to the stories she would tell. She was such an amazing lady and so dear to our hearts. I know God had a beautiful mansion waiting for her in heaven. I thank God for her and that I was able to know her. I love you Aunt Ruth.
Ruth was always the leader and we (her siblings) always looked up to her advice. Ruth and I shared a love for plants and gardens. I have fond memories of dropping by her house after I had gotten the kids off to school. We would share a cup of coffee and maybe a piece of pie. I loved Ruth so much.
Linda, your mother was a very gracious person with a sweet spirit.
I can remember stopping by your house when we walked home from elementary school and she always seemed happy to see everyone.
