Russell Dahl Krogsgard passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012.
Beloved husband of Judith Hughes Krogsgard. Devoted father of Kay L. Krogsgard and Lisa K. Sowerwine and husband Jeffrey. Grandfather of Brittni Sowerwine Hawkins, Kyle and Ainsley Sowerwine. Great-grandfather of Raina and Isabella Hawkins. Uncle of Carol Pertuit, Jan Krogsgard Truett, Karla Krogsgard Pastor, Drew and Keith Krogsgard. Son of the late John L. and Anna Krogsgard. Brother of the late John Rolland Krogsgard.
Age 81 years. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 32 years. He was a member of the Air National Guard in his earlier years, and a trusted and respected architect until the day he died. A great lover of music, he sang with numerous choirs over the years and often composed original songs. He was a much loved character actor for Playmakers and other northshore community theaters, having played numerous roles over the last few decades. For more than 20 years he performed the much beloved role of the butler in the Nutcracker with Ballet Apetrei. He was also an active teacher and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for 38 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1 N. Marigold Dr., Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation, AT THE CHURCH, from 9:00 AM until service time.
