Rudolph Albert Hall, Sr.'s Obituary
Rudolph “Red” A. Hall, Sr., age 87 years, born February 24, 1920 in New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2007, with his devoted wife and loving family at his side.
The former World War II veteran and a Marine with the 4th Division participated in four invasions in the Pacific. He was a sheet metal mechanic out of Local 11 working 47 years for Holzer Sheet Metal Works, during which time he oversaw many jobs at the Fairmont Hotel. A long time resident of New Orleans, he enjoyed playing sports and coaching on St. Roch Park and working out at the NOAC. An avid golfer, he was a founding member of the Four Foursomes Golf Club at City Park’s South Course.
“Red” was a kind and generous gentleman who befriended everyone he met in life and shared his love for the outdoors with his family and many friends.
He will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy Stowell Hall; son, Rudolph A. Hall, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Ann Hall; daughter, Janet Hall Stram and son-in-law, Dale Stram; grandson, Dr. Michael Hall and spouse, Dr. Meredith Hall; granddaughter, Lauren Hall; three great grandchildren, Graydon, Grisham and Gabrielle Hall and a nephew, Kenneth Bonura. Son of the late Louis Hall and Anna Pupis Hall and preceded in death by his siblings Irene, Edward, Josephine, Olga, Louis, Jr. and Hilda.
A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for 10 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 11:30 A.M. from Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach., Mandeville, LA 70471. Visitation on Tuesday, AT THE CHURCH from 10:30 A.M. until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or contributions to the American Heart Association or Memorial Hospice & Palliative Care are preferred.
