Roy "Buster" L. Oalmann's Obituary
Roy L. "Buster" Oalmann, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was born May 12, 1922 in Waldheim to the late Ernest and Mathilde Kabel Oalmann and spent his life as a Dairy Farmer in the Covington area.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Heath Oalmann and his daughter-in-law, Linda Morse Oalmann. He is survived by two sons, R. L. Oalmann, Jr. (Judy), Thomas Oalmann (Trudy); three daughters: Kathryn O. Coyne (Jack), Ann O. Stone (Rob) and Janet O. DeLuca (Charles); one sister, Louise O. Batty; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Herbert L. and Edgar E. Oalmann and two sisters, Thelma Spears and Vera Miley, also preceded him in death.
Buster was a proud Veteran of World War II. In the 96th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army , he fought in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre to preserve the lives of his fellow Americans and the freedom we have today. He was also a dedicated member of Landmark Church of God for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
A wake is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6-9:00 PM, with visitation beginning Saturday at 10:00 AM.
Interment at the Oalmann Family Cemetery will immediately follow services.
