Rosie Lee McGowan's Obituary

Rosie Lee McGowan departed this life from St. Tammany Hospital to spend eternity with Christ on August 4, 2021 at the age of 76. She was born on May 21, 1945 to the Morris and Myrtis Ladner.
Rosie Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Myrtis Ladner; four brothers, Lieutenant Ladner, Lavern Ladner, Christopher Harris, Jesse Ladner; one sister, Helen Riley, and her son-in-law Lucius Lee Simmons.
Rosie Lee is survived by one daughter, Diane Simmons (late Lucius Simmons) of Folsom, LA, one son Ray McGowan of Mt. Hermon, LA and also a special nephew that she raised like her own son, Carl Ladner (Turwonnda) of D’Iberville, MS. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Theresa Nicole Ladner of Folsom, LA, Kelly Jackson Putmon (Ronald Putmon, Jr.), Tranice McGowan, Raven McGowan, Keri McGowan of Mt. Hermon, LA and Wesley McGowan of Murfreesboro, TN, and 12 great- grandchildren; four brothers; Clarence Harris Jr of Bogalusa, LA, Ladell Ladner and M.L. (Cindy) Ladner of Mt. Hermon, LA, and Tommy Silas of Columbia, MS; six sisters; Gloria Ladner, Lovie (Ronald) Torregano, Aline Silas, Christine (Ralph) Graves, and Hazel Harrington (late Michael Harrington) of Bogalusa, LA; one aunt; Rosie Mae Magee of Columbia, MS; three sisters-in-laws; Rosie M Ladner and Juanita Ladner of Bogalusa, LA and Gayle Harris of Folsom LA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Her celebration of life will be held at a later day with family and love ones.
