Rosemary Wallace Thomas' Obituary
Rosemary Wallace Thomas passed away peacefully Friday, March 29th, 2019.
Born April 23, 1928 to Jesse and Myrtle Wallace and grew up in Magnolia, Arkansas. Rosemary graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in art and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Married to David Samuel Thomas Sr. for sixty years and lived in El Dorado, Arkansas where she taught third and fourth grade before starting her own art school. They lived in London, England, Fairhope, Alabama, and Duluth, Minnesota before moving to New Orleans.
Rosemary loved the adventure of travel and toured Europe extensively. She became an importer and dealer of English antiques from their time in London. She loved family and friends, and adored her grandchildren. Rosemary was an accomplished artist with a passion for watercolor. She had an eye for interior design and partnered well with David on numerous home renovation projects. Rosemary would dream it, and David would build it.
She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church New Orleans where she taught Sunday school classes for the singles department. After moving to the Northshore, Rosemary was an active member of First Baptist Church of Covington.
Predeceased by her loving husband, David Thomas and brother William Wallace. Survived by brothers Jack and Don Wallace, her children David Thomas and Becky Ricketts, daughter-in-law, Lucy Thomas and son-in-law, Kevin Ricketts and grandchildren Chelsea and Nathan Ricketts, Nicholas, Olivia, and Alexander Thomas.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time.
