Rosamaria Fuentes Dauzat's Obituary
Rosamaria Fuentes Dauzat, at the age of 66, entered eternal rest peacefully on Monday morning, February 12, 2024, at her family home surrounded by her adoring loving family. She was born in Guatemala on April 30, 1957, to Jorge Fuentes and Graciela A. Fuentes.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Gerald P. Dauzat; her adoring children, Miguel Gomez (Lindsay), Rebecca Autin (Blake), stepdaughter Nicki Parria (Barry), and stepson Kevin Dauzat. Rosamaria was the proud grandmother of Hannah, Anthony, Maria, Nolee, Jax, Casey, Chelsea, Darrian, Briana, Shawn, Carrie, Chelsie, and great grandmother to Olivia, Bailey, Grayson, Aubrey, Todd, Oaklyn, Laiken, Alexis, and Colbie. She was a caring sibling of Rebeca Elguetta, Beatrice Soao, Esmeralda Munos, Jorge Fuentes, and Rodolfo Fuentes. Rosamaria will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends, whom she dearly loved.
Rosamaria was preceded in death by her parents Jorge and Graciela Fuentes; a son, Francisco Gomez, and siblings, Graciela Fuentes, Mercedes Fuentes, and Jorge Fuentes.
A native of Guatemala, and proud resident of Ponchatoula for over 10 years, Rosamaria graduated from Colegio Belga High School in 1975. After high school she attended Del Valle College. Rosamaria began her professional career as a school teacher then moved to the United States and worked in quality control for Direct Insurance. She was successful and well respected as an outstanding teacher from Gautemala. She was a devout member to St. Anselm Catholic Church of Madisonville for many years.
Rosamaria was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time outdoors/indoors and enjoyed arts and crafts as a hobby. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. Rosamaria was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
The Dauzat family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by Community Care Hospice and Northlake Pulmonary with St. Tammany Health System.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Funeral Mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:30 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow mass and take place in Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, Louisiana 70457.
