Rosalie M. Dickerson's Obituary
Rosalie M. Dickerson, age 91, of Franklinton, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025. She was born on January 11, 1934, in Blond, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Thomas W. “Tommy” O’Keefe (Robin), Kenneth R. “Kenny” O’Keefe, Keith R. O’Keefe (Debbie), and Richard A. “Ricky” O’Keefe; stepchildren, Katherine Williams, Keith Dickerson, D’nita Leanna Threadgill, Timothy S. Sharp, and Donna Gayle Panacek; sisters, Leatte Sharp and Janice “Midge” Magee; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Calvin R. Sharp and Bruce Dickerson; children, Dianne M. Davis, Dennis A. O’Keefe, and Terry J. O’Keefe; stepchildren, Barbara Smith, Sherry Hartfield; parents, James A. McLain and Myrtis O. Loyd McLain; brother, Melvin R. McLain; and a grandson, Terry J. “T.J.” O’Keefe, Jr.
Mrs. Rosalie worked for many years at Southeast Hospital in Mandeville as a Psychiatric Aide until her retirement in December 1991. After retirement, she spent her time taking care of her family and making memories with them. She was a longtime member of New Zion Baptist Church and more recently attended Bonner Creek Baptist Church in Washington Parish. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
