Rosa Mae Kahl Grantham, 87, died Thursday, August 21 2014 in Metairie, Louisiana.
Visitation is 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Hebron Baptist Church, 79614 Hwy 41, Bush, LA 70431. Services and burial will follow visitation at Hebron Baptist Church.
Rosa was born January 12, 1927 in Bush, Louisiana. She graduated from Covington High School in Covington, Louisiana. After graduation, she worked briefly in the war time effort at Higgins Industries.
After living in Mobile, AL, Pensacola, FL, Jacksonville, FL Perry, FL and Monticello, MS, she and her husband of 59 years, Louis Grantham, decided to return to their childhood home in Bush to enjoy their retirement years. They remodeled and lived in her family home built by her father.
During this time, they enjoyed being near family and renewing old friendships. They were both active members of Hebron Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Louis Grantham, her parents George Herman and Rosa Galloway Kahl and her brother Herman Hansel Kahl.
She is survived by her son Jim Grantham and his wife Harriet, her daughter Susan Grantham, a grandson James Grantham and his wife Tressa, and four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Cody, and Megan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mrs. Grantham to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or an organization of your choice.
