Ronald "Ronnie" Dewitt Teague's Obituary
Ronald Dewitt Teague, at the age of 84, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. He was born on February 1, 1942, in Haynesville, Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Billie Joyce Tinsley; his children, Michael (Keri), Jennifer Gomez (Lou), and Clint (Dena); grandchildren, Katie Reppond (Bryan), Will Teague (Kacie), Samantha Gomez, Colin Teague, Sadie Gomez, Sarah Creel (Aidan), Lily Teague, and Anna Teague; and great-grandchildren, Nolan Teague and Tinsley Teague. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and wonderful lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Katy Gentry Teague and Lannie Teague; and his siblings, Yvonne Nelson, Charles Teague, James Teague, and Don Teague.
Ronnie graduated from Haynesville High School in 1960 and later earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University. He and Billie then moved to New Orleans, where he began a rewarding 39-year career with Entergy.
He always balanced work with a variety of enjoyable projects, whether wiring Jennifer and Lou’s house, building a carport with Charles Wayne for their mother, or clearing fallen trees on the northshore after Hurricane Katrina. Whenever visiting the kids, he was always looking for something to fix—such as a flickering light, dripping faucet, or a rotten board. Calling a repairman was simply out of the question. Dad would always find a way to fix it himself. If you visited RD’s house your departure might be delayed until he finished washing your car.
When he and Billie were not traveling through Europe with dear friends, he spent many contented days fishing from his boat on Lake D’Arbonne. He dearly loved Forsythe Church of Christ and considered it an honor to serve as an elder for many years.
He was a wonderful man and role model to his children and grandchildren-always present, always providing, and always loving each of us deeply. He was loved and will be loved forever. Ronnie, Dad, RD…we will see you again.
Pallbearers will be Joey Canterbury, Larry Holland, Kenny Solley, Colin Teague, Donnie Teague, and Will Teague.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ronnie may be made to Forsythe Avenue Church of Christ.
