Ronald "Mr. G" Geauthreaux's Obituary
Ronald “Mr. G” Geauthreaux, age 90, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Elmida Marie Rome Geauthreaux; three children, Rhona, Danette, and Troy; grandchildren, Erica (Sammy), Shea, Gabriela, Henry, and Madeleine; and great-grandchildren, Katelynne, Carter, and Elijah. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Geauthreaux and Bertha Hammel Geauthreaux; and siblings, Raines, Johnny, Warren, Ruby, Eunice, and Harry.
He served in the United States Navy and Naval reserve for twelve years, graduated from John McDonough High School, University of Louisiana Lafeyette, and Nicholls State University where he received his master’s degree.
“Mr. G” was an accomplished and beloved educator for over thirty years in the St. Bernard, the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and Jefferson and St. Tammany Parish School Systems. He also served as the planetarium director at Arabi Park Middle School for several years.
As a devout Catholic and parishioner of Prince of Peace in Chalmette and Our Lady of the Lake in Mandeville, he achieved the status of Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus as a lifetime member of the Rummel Council 5747 and was a St. Louis medal recipient.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mandeville City Cemetery, 1695 Montgomery Street, Mandeville, Louisiana.
