Ronald Galloway's Obituary
Ronald Galloway, age 87 of Covington, entered eternal rest peacefully on the morning of Monday, July 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on July 18, 1934 to Emira Galloway and Emma Lee Galloway.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara Cox Galloway for 66 years. He is survived by his grief stricken children Deborah Galloway Barfield (Ronnie), Kimberly Galloway Murdoch (Gary), and Melinda Galloway Hulsey (Duke). Ronald was the proud grandfather of 7, and devoted great grandfather of 8. He was the caring sibling of Virginia Galloway Rogers, Bonnie Galloway Pratt, Claudine Galloway Cassano, Frankie Galloway Bryant, Gwen Galloway Plauche, and Karl W. Galloway. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and amazing long life friends.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Emira and Emma Galloway, and his sisters, Theresa and Barbara Galloway.
A native of Washington Parish, longtime resident of Covington for over 66 years, Ronald, graduated from Enon High School. After high school, he married the love of his life, Barbara Cox Galloway. Shortly after his marriage he was drafted to the United States Army, and was honorably discharged for serving his country on December 5, 1958. He began his professional career as a talented and successful Welder and even owned his business.
Ronald enjoyed spending his time outdoors; he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren and his adoring great grandchildren. Ronald was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435, on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service in Barker-McManus Cemetery, 79407 Lee Road, Covington, Louisiana.
