Dottie and Family,
RJ was one of the few Bourgeois's I really knew. Each summer he would come to St. James Parish and spend a week with us on Welham Plantation. I was much younger than him, but he got a kick out of teasing me. He and my brother, Gus, would ramble all over the plantation. I was sorry to hear of his death. I was traveling out of state. Please accept my sympathy.

Well, it has taken us a while to try to put into words what we want to say, and although there are not really ANY words that fit just right, we will attempt to say a few.
When we first met (Lake D'arbonne, Farmerville, LA.) around June or July of 1997 (WOW, was it that long ago!), we instantly knew we had found lifelong friends, from Mr. Rollo's smart wit and funny jokes, to Ms. Dottie's unconditional kindness.
Life on "The Lake" was never dull or boring, from all the crawfish boils and crab boils, all the fishing and the figs (from our shared tree), all the great, unforgettable conversations and last, but certainly not least, all the times that the generator was cranked, especially when the sun was out.
We are so thankful we had the privilege to meet such wonderful people. We will miss Mr. Rollo very much, but we know that we will be called home one day and we will see him again.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I know that Rollo was grateful for the time he had with his children during the past few years since the move back to southern LA, and must surely enjoyed his final years being with Dottie each day. You all are in my prayers.

Dear Dottie, My heart aches to hear of Rollo's passing. He was a constant source of entertainment and you were always there to play his "straight man". My girls still have their peacock feathers and memories of chasing the baby pig on Rollo's Ranch! I am searching for an image of a fish hook to put with this message, but since that is not an option I am choosing the Sun...as Rollo could always light up a room! Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Elizabeth and Robert.

Dear Dottie, I wish so much that I could have seen and talked to you more over all these years. How sad to finally make contact now. I wish very much that I'd had a chance to know Rollo.
