Roland Bernard Juneau's Obituary
Roland Bernard Juneau, April 7, 1937–December 22, 2017, was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Madisonville, Louisiana. Mr. Juneau was predeceased by his parents, Stafford Gerard Juneau of Cottonport, Louisiana and Maria Carmen Quijano Juneau of Ciudad de Colima, Mexico; and by his brother, Stafford Gerard Juneau, Jr. of Metairie, Louisiana.
Mr. Juneau is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra Scalise Juneau. He was the beloved father of Therese Juneau Fury and husband Mark Joseph Fury; Jeanne Michelle Juneau and husband Paul Hickman Goethel; and Marc Bernard Juneau. He was grandfather to Angelle Juneau Lynch and husband Cody Michael Lynch, parents of his great-granddaughter, Julliana Elizabeth Lynch. Mr. Juneau was also grandfather to Donielle Fury Dantzler and husband Timothy Wayne Dantzler; Sean Michael Fury; Chloe Simone Hua Goethel; and Marcelo Lis Juneau. Mr. Juneau is survived by brother Richard James Juneau and wife Barbara Accardo Juneau; brother Robert Leo Juneau and wife Helen Winstead Juneau; and sister Joy Juneau Richardson and husband James Edward Richardson. Uncle Roland will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Mr. Juneau served in the Louisiana National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1960. He attended Tulane University School of Business, and was a member of the American Bankers Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association of the U.S., the National Association of Realtors, and the Louisiana Realtors Association. He was a Regional Operations Director of Mortgage Banking for Mellon Financial Services, President of Louisiana Commercial Bank, and Area President for Union Planters Bank in Mandeville.
Mr. Juneau was actively engaged in his community, serving on boards of directors of the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce and Northshore Homebuilders Association. He was a member the St. Tammany Parish Alliance for Good Government and of the Mandeville Chapter of Rotary International. He served on the Finance Committee of Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans; marched in Mardi Gras parades with the Band Boosters of Saint Paul’s School in Covington; was a member of Knights of Columbus International, Our Lady of the Lake Mandeville Chapter; and worshipped at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Madisonville.
Mr. Juneau will be remembered within the community for his integrity in business and by family and friends for his gentle kindness to all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road St. Benedict, LA 70457. Visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W. 21st. Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
