Roger Wilson Gerth's Obituary
Roger Wilson Gerth was born February 15, 1941 and died October 14, 2008 at his home. A native of Estelline, SD and a longtime resident of Mandeville, LA.
He was a master carpenter and his beautiful cabinetry work is in many fine homes in the New Orleans and Mandeville areas. With an interesting and varied life, in earlier years he was a “Smoke Jumper” with The U.S. Forestry Service in Montana.
He is survived by his life companion Mary Christine Webster, M.D., his son Jeffrey Scott Gerth of Mandeville, brother Gary Lynn Gerth of Montana, sister Lonnie Jene McBride of Washington State and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Anne Wilson Gerth and Elmer Otto Gerth of South Dakota.
Funeral services to be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
