Rodney Joseph Higgins' Obituary
Rodney Joseph Higgins, a beloved husband, father, and Pappy, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the age of 58.
He was a fun-loving spirit who always brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. Known for his infectious personality and love for life, Rod’s presence was never without energy, and he was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Katherine Higgins; his children, Jessica (Michael), Katie (Alex), and Jacob (Leeann); grandchildren, Eden, Maria, and Cooper, all of whom will continue to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy of joy, love, and living life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles E. Higgins Jr. and father-in-law, George J. Schneider Jr. He was survived by his mother, Annette Toth.
A passionate sportsman, Rod was an avid golfer, fisherman, and gun enthusiast. He enjoyed the great outdoors and shared those moments with loved ones. He could often be found in the company of his granddaughters, riding bikes and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Rod’s love for music was unmatched. As DJ Higgy, he knew exactly how to bring the party, ensuring everyone was on their feet and having fun. His playful spirit, laughter, and love for family and friends will be deeply missed.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Friday, March 28, 2025, at :200 PM with visitation on Friday beginning at 12:00 noon.
