Robin "Rob" Mingo's Obituary
The Mingo family mourns the passing of Robin “Rob” Mingo on December 31, 2025. A beloved brother, husband, father, and Papa, he was 79 years of age.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Pam, his four children Katie (Robert), Tony, Robert (Jesse), Joey, and three grandchildren.
A farm boy from Rosati, Missouri, Rob was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a successful engineer working for Shell, Freeport-McMoRan, and Matrix Oil & Gas throughout his career.
Rob had a deep and abiding love for family and community; helping kids learn key skills and values for success. He served as a board member of the Covington Boys & Girls Club, West St. Tammany YMCA, Catholic Charities, and St. Benedict's Parish Council. He channeled his success into impactful philanthropy across the Northshore and beyond. A pillar of the community, “Coach Mingo” was passionate about team sports and the life lessons that they teach.
We ask that you join us in keeping Rob’s family in your prayers. Services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2025, at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Smith Rd. in Covington. Visitation will be at 10am, followed by mass at 12pm. Interment will be at St. Joseph Abbey following mass.
A celebration of life will be hosted after. In lieu of flowers, please consider masses or a donation of any amount to the Covington Boys & Girls Club.
