Robin Remmelts Childs passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009.
Beloved wife of James Ray Childs; loving mother to Sean James Childs; daughter of Margaret McComish Shaw; sister to Jayme Remmelts Allen and William Rand Remmelts and his wife Kelsey; step-daughter to Barbara Remmelts and William F. Charles; step-sister to David Dahm and his wife Brooke and Roger Dahm and his wife Roxanne. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, to which she was known as “Aunt Rah-Rah”. She was preceded in death by her father, Jaymes Remmelts.
Age 47 years, she was a native of Grand Rapids, MI, and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 15 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4375 Hwy 22, Mandeville, LA 70471.
A Celebration of Life reception will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations in Robin’s memory to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, www.marybird.org/content/fundraising-events/ or to an educational fund for Sean at Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) c/o Dale Remmelts, 7140 Gladys Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 (put Sean Childs in the memo field of your check).
